The Friends of the New Gloucester Public Library
is a nonprofit membership organization made up of generous donors and dedicated volunteers who believe in the vital role our library plays in enriching the life of our community.
Through fundraising, advocacy, and hands-on support, the Friends help supplement the library’s operating budget—ensuring that programs and special projects continue to thrive.

How to support the Friends of the New Gloucester Public Library:

  1. Become a member. The Friends of the New Gloucester Public
Library is a membership organization that supports the Library through members’ dues and volunteer activities.
    Membership is tax-deductible.

  2. Volunteer. Work at book sales, join a specialized committee, participate in bake sales—bring your ideas!

  3. Make a donation. All donations are tax-deductible and you can donate directly through the PayPal link.

  4. Follow the Friends on Facebook and Instagram. Stay up to date on what the Friends are doing.

  5. Speak up for the library. Let your local, state, and federal representatives know how important your library is to you, your family, and your community.

Some of our recent efforts include:

  • Raising funds through book sales, donations, and membership dues.

  • Supporting summer reading programming and book clubs.

  • Beautifying the library grounds with gardens and a renovated community space.

  • Hosting a raised-bed vegetable garden class.

  • Participating in town events, such as the Community Fair and Tiny Timber tree lighting.
