The Friends of the New Gloucester Public Library is a nonprofit membership organization made up of donors and volunteers who support the library by donating money, fundraising, volunteering, and advocating for the library. The organization raises money to supplement the library's operating budget for programming and projects. Some examples are: funding passes to museums and the Maine Wildlife Park, sponsoring speakers and programs such as summer reading and author visits, purchasing annual movie license for library movie events and much more.

Together we can ensure that the New Gloucester Public Library remains a vibrant community resource.

The Friends of the New Gloucester Public Library was founded earlier and reinvigorated in 1989. We have more than 70 members and continue to grow every year. Our dedicated volunteers are working on a full history of the Friends, which will be added here soon.
